What Is Monsanto?

I’m sure you’ve seen things over the last several years about Monsanto. What is Monsanto and why does everybody seem to want it to go away? It is my belief that Monsanto is destroying our healthy food supply.Monsanto is a chemical company responsible for Agent Orange, PCBs and Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). Have you ever heard of RoundUp? That is a Monsanto product. This company has been around for more than 20 years and it created the pesticides that are sprayed on crops to kill bugs, but not the crops. GMOs are engineered crops, if you will, created to withstand these chemicals. So, unless you are eating an organic, non-GMO product, who knows what you’re eating!There are movements these days to force food producers in the U.S. to label their products. Many responsible producers have already started that, but it is not a requirement from the government for them to do so. Most European countries have already gone this route, but because people in our government have so many ties to Monsanto, the movement to label GMO foods is unfortunately not gaining any ground in our country.It is not difficult to eat organic fruits and vegetables, unfortunately it is not cheap either. But, let’s think about it. Would you rather pay a little more now for genuine, clean, pesticide-free food or would you rather pay later with your health?
