Join Our January Challenge
It’s been said that only 8 percent of people actually stick to their New Year’s resolutions.Whether that is a scientific study or hearsay, who knows. But setting overly ambitiouschanges, when you have not already started to make small changes is a recipe forfailure. Many people set resolutions on Jan. 1 because it’s the beginning of a new year, but it’s time to start thinking smaller – think of each day as a new beginning. At Homberg Chiropractic and Wellness we have instituted our January Challenge tohelp you make changes! We are encouraging you to join us and Change your Body toChange your Mindset! We are not just encouraging you, we are joining you. Our entirestaff has signed up for the challenge as have a number of our patients. We will keep achart in the office to track your progress and we will call you weekly to check in.Here is the challenge:Physiology Rules Psychology!!I will only ingest positive messages! I will only deliver positive messages! I will only eat healthy foods! I will eliminate all deep- fried foods, processed sugar and other junk fro my lifestyle. I will exercise no less than 20 minutes, four times per week. I will take these steps to being my optimal self!Individually, I am capable of the above but as a team with accountability we are going to surpass the stated and achieve even more. We’ve been promoting this throughout December so that you can start to make thosesmall changes. I realize it’s difficult this time of year because there are sweetseverywhere you look. You might think you can just take a pinch off a cookie or piece ofcandy, but remember, sugar is addictive. The more you eat, the more you crave. As forthe fried foods, switch to baking, broiling or searing your food instead. I love a piece offried chicken as much as the next person, but I opt for baked chicken instead. As for the exercise – 20 minutes, four times per week – this is the perfect time of year tostart because many of you are off throughout the holidays. Don’t sit around the tablewith family after you eat, get up, bundle up and take a walk around the block. If youhave limited mobility, opt for leg lifts or invest in an exercise peddler, which can befound for less than $30 at most big box stores. If you’d like more information, encouragement or support on this challenge, just let usknow next time you are in the office.
