Take Care of Your Shoulders
Our shoulders are probably the most used, yet under-appreciated joints in the body. Think about how you use your shoulders every day. Many of you spend eight-plus hours a day literally curled up in front of a computer; and people carry around purses and laptop bags more than half their weight. Think of the beating your shoulders take.A basic exercise to help with shoulder maintenance is shoulder blade pinches. Bring your shoulder blades together and down without moving your arms and hold for five seconds. You can do this while sitting at your desk or even in your car. Regularly stretching your arm and shoulder muscles is also a good idea.Shoulders benefit from regular chiropractic adjustments. Keeping your spine aligned puts less pressure on the muscles leading to your shoulders. If patients come in with shoulder issues, we can adjust them and we often apply kinesiotape to help maintain the alignment.
