Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a common problem, especially for people who use their hands repetitively for work. CTS is named for the part of the wrist, known as the carpal tunnel, where the symptoms of CTS start. Carpals are the official name for your wrist bones. CTS is the inflammation or compression of nerves in the carpal tunnel, creating numbness, tingling, and muscle weakness in the hands. Those who experience carpal tunnel syndrome may experience pain in the palm and wrist, numbness in the hand and weakness in the muscles that control the thumb. If you are experiencing these systems and use your hands a lot in your job, mention it at your next visit to Homberg Chiropractic. In addition to my chiropractic training, I’ve taken a number of continuing education courses focuses on treating extremities.
