We’ve all Heard of It, but What is Sciatica?

Your sciatic nerve is about the size of your thumb in diameter and runs down the back of your leg. If you experience burning along the back of your thigh or cramping in the back of your leg, you COULD be experiencing sciatica. I say could, because we never want you to diagnose yourself and please don’t diagnose yourself by searching a website! That is why I sat through hours upon hours of anatomy classes! If your spine is not in alignment, it can irritate the nerves that exit from it, including the sciatic nerve causing the pain in your low back and legs. Misalignment of your spine or poor mobility patterns are why we adjust the spine, and are able to relieve lower back pain and other conditions such as sciatica that originate because of the misalignment.
