Chiropractic Biophysics

Chiropractic Biophysics, or CBP, is a research-based, posture- and curve-focused approach to chiropractic care. Sometimes called the Clinical Biomechanics of Posture, it looks at where your spine and posture sit relative to a healthy, well-supported alignment, and treats that difference rather than chasing one painful spot at a time. The aim is measurable structural change, not just a temporary sense of relief.

At Homberg Chiropractic & Wellness, Dr. Hennie is trained and experienced in this advanced technique, and his focus goes beyond posture alone to the underlying curvature of the spine. That structural view has shaped his work in Knoxville Bearden, and it reflects the clinic’s whole-body philosophy: because one part of the body affects the rest, we treat the body as a connected system and work toward lasting function instead of short-term symptom control.

How Chiropractic Biophysics Works

CBP is a peer-reviewed, research-supported method that combines traction, chiropractic adjustments, and targeted corrective exercise and stretching into one coordinated plan. Before any of that begins, we take time to understand the real source of the problem. A thorough evaluation, including imaging when it is clinically indicated, helps Dr. Hennie see how your spine is actually loading and explain why a specific recommendation matters, rather than guessing from how the pain feels on a given day. From there, care is customized to your unique spinal shape so the changes we work toward can be measured and tracked over time.

What to Expect at Homberg

Because every spine is different, there is no one-size-fits-all protocol. Your plan is built around your findings, your tolerance, and your goals, and it typically pairs in-office work with corrective, mirror-image style exercises you do at home to strengthen and stabilize the spine and help hold your progress. We practice honestly: results depend on how long a problem has been present, your age and bone density, and how consistently the plan is followed, and if your situation points to a problem outside our scope, we will tell you and refer you to the right provider.

If posture, recurring pain, headaches, or stiffness keep coming back, a biophysics-based evaluation is a good place to start. Seek urgent medical care first for severe trauma, sudden weakness, loss of bowel or bladder control, or symptoms that rapidly worsen.
